Mutek: Bleid + Tadleeh
Time Out says
Friendly warning! We're working hard to be accurate. But these are unusual times, so please check that events are still happening.
The Mutek Barcelona festival celebrates the start of a new decade from March 4 to 7, and does so 'focusing on the interconnectivity of the platform as an incubator and opportunity generator', working for 'the empowerment of the local and international artistic community and to continue its founding mandate to make visible, encourage and accompany the development of artistic talent'. Grand plans indeed.
The session on March 5 at Laut is a good example of that, with Bleid, a producer based in Lisbon and expert in styles such as footwork, hardcore with a UK flavour and drone, and he's brought us titles such as 'Violet x Bleid – Badness', released by Naive in 2018. Also on the bill is Tadleeh, the project of Indian-born, Milan-based musician Hazina Francia, who last year made a stunning debut with her 'Ego Will Collapse', released on the Berlin-based label Yegorka; chaos, disorder and a rejection of rationality are the distinctive features of her style, which highlights her own diverse and mixed cultural heritage, as she shows off her love of baroque textures and special care for rhythmic aspects.
