The Giggling Guiri (aka Stephen Garland) presents his homage to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which celebrates its 70th year this summer with a taste of two shows on this year's programme.

First up it's ComedyinSpain's own Juan D. Ablo, who's returning to the Fringe after a hiatus of several years to channel his True Storytelling night, 'Vent! Telling it like it was'. He'll preview his show ‘The Pre-Disposed’, an epic tale of washed-up comedy promoter Juan D. Ablo that passes through mediocre events and ill-advised shows and festivals, from Brazil to Spain and ultimately back home to Ireland in search of the reason why leglessness suddenly became uncool.

The second part will be simply one of the most popular shows on the international festival circuit from New Zealand to Edinburgh with the multiple-award-winning Carey Marx. Carey brings his show ‘Britain’s Favourite Man’ fresh from storming both Melbourne and Adelaide’s comedy festivals. Star of Intensive Carey on Radio 4, twice winner of Best International Show at the New Zealand Comedy Festival and just awarded the 'Comedian's Comedian' 2017 Chortle.co.uk award, Marx comes to Spain with a new show about getting older, fatter and uglier.

All proceeds from the show will go to support Barcelona comedy's glorious leader’s attempts to conquer his stupid disease PPMS in Russia with stem cell therapy.
