The film traces John Lennon's childhood and adolescence, from the forming of his first band The Quarrymen to the birth of The Beatles. Following the death of his uncle, John Lennon has an argument with his aunt Mimi and, steeped in immense sadness, he sets out to find Julia, his biological mother. She shows him the meaning of being a free spirit and the importance of following his dreams. Julia gives him a guitar, but she's also trying to hide her predisposition to depression from him. The feature is preceded by the Danish short film 'Captain Awesome: The Rumble in the Concrete Jungle', selected by Filmets.
