Roman Polanski. USA, 1968. Original version, Spanish subtitles. 136'.
Away from the sensationalism with which the world of cinema approached the figure of the devil in later movies ('The Exorcist' and 'Prophecy', for example), this Polanski film starring Mia Farrow that was adapted from a bestseller by Ira Levin tells a much more everyday tale, which is at the same time more horrible and terrifying. Ruth Gordon won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
