49th Voll-Damm Festival Internacional de Jazz de Barcelona: Lila Downs

The daughter of a Native Mexican woman who escaped from her village to sing in cantinas in Mexico City at the age of 15, and a university professor from Minnesota, Lila Downs has earned universal respect thanks to her voice and her vision. With her 11th album, 'Salón, lágrimas y deseo' (2017), Downs brings back bolero to a repertoire that also includes jazz, blues, soul, cumbia and even rap.
