A poet and a noblewoman share a passionate attraction but are separated by the upheaval of the French Revolution. Now appearing onstage at the Liceu is one of the most anticipated titles of the season. Especially given that it features such stars in the opera world as Jonas Kaufmann, Carlos Álvarez and Sondra Radvanovsky. Performing with them are the Liceu's own orchestra and choir, directed on this occasion by Pinchas Steinberg. David McVicar is in charge of the stage direction in this a production that premiered in 2015, and has been performed in opera houses in London, Beijing and San Francisco.
