Andrea Motis’s unstoppable progress over the last five years has earned its just reward with the release of her new album on the prestigious Impulse! label. And the Jamboree has the privilege of doing the honours and being the stage where it is presented immediately after the launch. Emotional Dance is also the first album by a jazz group from Spain or Portugal to form part of the catalogue of the record label built by true jazz legends like John Coltrane, Charles Mingus and Gato Barbieri. The album is a great leap forward for the international profile of this singer, saxophonist and trumpeter, and we are proud she has chosen the Jamboree as the stage to begin its launch.
