First it was Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash, and not long afterwards Lew Soloff, Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, Sonny Boy Williamson, Buddy Guy and John Lee Hooker himself. No blues giant has been able to resist including Charlie Musselwhite’s harmonica in their line-up. At the age of 72, he preserves all these experiences in a small piece of metal containing the deepest sounds of the Mississippi, where he was born, and Chicago, where he grew up. Where better to savour this piece of living blues history than at close quarters in the club?
Charlie Musselwhite harmonica, Matthew Stubbs guitar, Randy Bermudes bass, June Core drums.
