American musician Ernie Watts is one of the most recognized in the world of jazz. Since legendary drummer Buddy Rich invited him to be the first saxophonist in Rich's orchestra, Watts has built a career as full of loyalties as his will to constantly take on new experiences. Maximum fidelity kept him as a member of Charlie Haden's West Quartet for more than two decades. And in the jazz world, he's been sought after by the likes of greats such as Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Milt Jackson and Quincy Jones. He's also crossed over into other genres and worked with Marvin Gaye, John Mayall, Frank Zappa, Pat Methany and The Rolling Stones. Jamboree presents Ernie Watts with his quartet, with whom he's recorded more than 20 albums, and shows off his taste for jazz touched by groove, soul and blues.
