Guitar BCN 2016: Tindersticks

The band from Nottingham with Stuart Staples at the helm are a contemporary classic, and they're in Barcelona with their tenth album, 'The Waiting Room' (2016), which three of the original members recorded (Staples, Neil Fraser and David Boulter) along with bassist Dan McKinna and drummer Earl Harv. Tindersticks got their start in 1991, two years before the release of their debut self-title album where they were already showing some of their distinctive characteristics. With excellent arrangements and Staples's baritone voice, Tindersticks' songs are along the lines of Gainsbourg's or Hazlewood's, giving shape to a heady programme of romance and emotion.
