For the first time, Jamboree plays host to one of the most innovative and original saxophonists working today. Born in Rhode Island (USA) but trained in Chicago, Ken Vandermark is having a big impact on the current jazz scene. His name is associated with the avant-garde, but his musical expression resonates with the most primitive, essential tradition of the sax. The night starts with a first solo set featuring works from Vandermark's latest album, which was created based on the dynamic of the saxophone solo. For the second set, pianist Agustí Fernández joins Vandermark for duets.
