Kenny Garrett Quintet

Time Out says

Kenny Garrett was a big part of the last stage of Miles Davis's career, and in addition to being an impressive musician in his own right, he's always been crystal clear about the respect his has for tradition and teachers that have marked him along the way. He's made that more evident than ever in his latest work, in which he dedicates different pieces to musicians who have been a guiding light for him, such as Mulgrew Miller, Chick Corea, Chucho Valdés, Sonny Rollins and Donald Brown. And beyond these specific influences, Garrett also recaptures the spirit of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers when he surrounds himself with some of the most promising musicians of the new generation.
