Time Out says

Singer Elena Roger and sextet Escalandrum, playing together for the first time in Spain, perform the most emblematic songs from the oeuvre of Astor Piazzolla in updated versions.

Escalandrum has travelled with their show to more than 40 countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas, and have released eight albums. The instrumental band have played in jazz festivals around the world. For her part, Roger has starred in top musical comedies in London, Madrid, New York on Broadway, and Buenos Aires. She's been nominated for Olivier Awards for three shows she was in in the UK, and won for her role in 'Piaf'.

The idea for these two to get together came up in 2012 in New York, where the band and the singer met working on different projects. Out of that came '3001', the tribute album to Piazzolla that they present tonight at the Teatre Grec. The essence of the pieces is found in the deepest roots of classic Argentine tango, but at the same time, the show surprises with its modern touch.
