Piknic #8 2015: Red Bull Music Academy

The Red Bull Music Academy takes over the Piknic Electronik booth and brings to the gardens of Montjuïc names like Patrice Bäumel (3pm), an internationally renowned DJ and producer currently living in Amsterdam, where he's a longtime resident at Trouw Amsterdam, one of Europe’s leading venues for electronic music, with his his Black Magic and HiFi nights at the club; Britain's Midland (5pm), known for his style based on an original reinterpretation of house, techno and 2step; and a king of the Detroit sound, Derrick May (7pm), who, inspired by Yello and Kraftwerk, has gone on to carve out a new vein in dance music that synthesizes the advances of the electro movement with the more challenging end of the house movement. Kicking things off at 1pm is Spain's own TalkToMe, whose 2014 debut EP, 'Aazra', caught the attention of national critics, making it one of the best debuts of last year.
