Sónar 2013. Sónar by Day: Liars + Lindstrøm & Todd Terje + Karl Hyde + Sébastien Tellier + Gold Panda + JJ DOOM...

The 20th edition of the International Festival of Advanced Music and New Media Art of Barcelona (aka Sónar) launches a new daytime location to celebrate two decades, moving for the first time from the CCCB and the MACBA to the Feria de Montjuïc in the name of comfort for festival-goers who had previously been packed into the smaller venues. Featured acts include the New York trio Liars, who has been on everyone's lips for their ability to bring punk to the dance floor, with their sixth album, 'WIXIW' (2012), on which they take a more electronic turn than we're used to from them. Other actc to look out for are the team of Lindstrøm & Todd Terje, who have put Norway on the international map of dance music; Karl Hyde, one half of the influential and popular Underworld, who has embarked on a new solo venture that explores his more intimate and reflective side; unpredictable and quirky French musician Sébastien Tellier; the instrumental electronic, dreamy and organic British composer and producer Gold Panda; electronic disco and soulful Americans Metro Area: and New York entertainer, poet, MC, drag queen, international artist and born provocateur Mykki Blanco.
