The New Mendicants

Two big names in the indie world have decided to pool their musical interests. Joe Pernice (Pernice Brothers) and Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) come to town with their joint project, The New Mendicants, which they decided to create after running into each other in Toronto, where they both now live. So far they have released an EP, 'Australia 2013', and their first album is planned for early 2014. Putting their voices and acoustic guitars together, they'll be playing new tracks, Teenage Fanclub songs, and tunes from the Pernice Brothers catalogue as well as covers of everything from The Zombies to The Go-Betweens.
