Primavera Sound has opened Abaixadors10, a nightlife space where you can drink and dance nearly every day of the week.
Veterans of Barcelona nightlife will recognise the name and address, in Abaixadors, 10, next to the Santa María del Mar church in the Born, from the old modernista palace where the new space lives. At the end of the last millennium it was one of those trendy spots where you could hear live music and grab a drink, and since then they've been hosting loads of events.
What will you find when you climb the stairs at Abaixadors10? To the left it's ABX10, the new cocktail bar from the La Confitería group – creators of such drink temples as El Paradiso, Dr. Stravinsky and El Maravillas – where you can whet your whistle with combinations created especially for a space that will delight fans of neon.
To the right it's the dance floor, where you'll move to urban beats, modern and old-school hip hop, and electronic rhythms laid out by resident DJs and international guest artists. The dancing gets underway around 9pm, but doors at Abaixadors10 open early so you can be part of the audience of the live broadcast by Radio Primavera Sound.
