it is very shocking to see two entirely different reviews, i have become perplexed of whether to go to this place or not. i will definitely not try the dishes melvyn has listed though.
With due respect to the only other customer review, we must have each eaten in a different restuarant. Our meal at Chicoa was superb. The sea urchin custard is an extraordinary preparation of this unique sea creature. The Sepia were beautifully done and the rest of meal followed in the same vein. Beyond that, the service, led by the lovely Senora who owns and runs the restaurant after the death of her husband, is beyond wonderful. It is a superb example of classic Catalan food in a warm and friendly environment. To give this restaurant only one star is the real disgrace.
I think to rate this restaurant as four star is an absolute disgrace. The food was appalling, we started with artichokes which was deep fried and swimming in fat. My partner had tuna carpaccio for her main course which was a starter portion surrounded by triangles of toasted sliced white bread. I had baked Hake , the texture was like rubber and accompanied by undercooked French fries. A most disappointing evening Sent from my iPhone
