It was 34 years ago that José Chuang opened this Chinese restaurant with its ornate Oriental decor, since when it has become an uptown landmark. Many customers know him by name and come up to the bar to greet him. With a Chinese father and a Catalan mother, Chuang lived his childhood in Kunming and he has a whole host of fascinating stories. At first, La Gran Muralla had a chef from Hong Kong, but now they serve dishes from the whole of China, such as Peking crispy duck and prawns with ginger.
