Malamén, set up by a Venezuelan, a Spaniard from Navarro, and a Swedish chef with experience in haute cuisine, is a bar-restaurant that completely breaks ranks with the onslaught of pseudo-Basque pintxos that has overrun C/Blai. In Malamén, which looks like a cocktail bar with a kitchen in it, you'll find cusine that's made from seasonal products with both carnivores and vegetarians in mind. Start off with a salad of greens with seeds and cava vinaigrette; follow that up with guinea-fowl and black chanterelle cannelloni, and any other filling dish with Swedish or Latin touches, such as venison or popular Venezuelan dish, 'asado negro', something akin to roast beef.
