This restaurant is closed.
Opened in December 2010 by a trio of Japanophile Brits, the Tatami Room is based on the concept of izakayas – which nearly equate to the idea of tapas bars, only with rather more comfortable seating areas. Downstairs, in a cosy basement bar, there are sunken tables and tatami mats to sit on (your footwear stacks away in a neat space underneath), at which you can chow down on shared plates of grilled yakitori brochettes, sashimi, tempura, noodle and rice dishes.
