In 1927 when the Castañer family opened their first artisanal espadrille shoe-making shop, they couldn't have imagined that years later Yves Saint Laurent would notice them and transform the modest espadrille into an international catwalk staple. Nowadays the Castañers' footwear is a summer must, with a timeless style that's Mediterranean as well as chic, and that still values maxiumum quality craftsmanship and tradition and local production.
