Catalan theatre group La Fura dels Baus have created a frenetic 'Carmina Burana', where audience members, via powerful scenes, special effects and even springtime fragrances, are plunged into the potent and visceral music of Carl Orff. Onstage, a cylinder that measures eight metres in diameter surrounds the orchestra, while the singers and projected images projected onto the cylinder illustrate the famous scenic cantata from beginning to end. A giant moon, the thaw, waterfalls, floral ecstacy, a live grape harvest, wine, water and fire. More than 100,000 spectators have already seen the show.
