We went to Barcelona with a couple of old friends to celebrate my birthday and were looking for something different for a slow Saturday walking around the city. Excellend food and nice company, the hosts also know a whole lot about the city food scene and recommended great places for drinks and dinner later in the evening. Definitely a great alternative to the usual Barcelona brunch to start the weekend!
My husband and I lived in Barcelona a few years ago. We wanted 'rediscover' the city yet stay away from the tourist traps that have become so common in barcelona. A friend of ours recommended Eat Local Food Tours so off we went. As a vegetarian I was a bit worried about the options that I would have. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent for both my husband (non-vegetarian) and myself. To be repeated!!!
Excellent time and great food! I had been in Barcelona half a dozen times already and wasn't sure it was for me but in the end we (my wide and I) were surprised by how much we learned and discovered thanks to the tour. Definitely something to try, even for old timers.
In Barcelona for few days, I planned to discover the city in a different way, not going in the usual places recommended by usual guide books. This food Tour was just the highlight of my stay, amazing food, nice people in the group, a very interesting guide who told us so many stories on the food and traditional cuisine but also on those areas of the city where I didn't see so many tourists. It was just a privilege to go in those places for someone like me not knowing the city and not knowing local people neither. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends and I do hope this concept will develop in many other cities. Very good for people who are just fed up to look like and feel like tourists. BCN Eat Local Food Tours is one the best activity ever in BCN for people who love food and who don't know well the city. A must do !
