Time Out says

June 17 and 18 see the first edition of the Maker Faire Barcelona, a programme from Sónar+D, IaaC Fab Lab Barcelona, and Soko Tech, which sets up in the Italian Pavilion at the Fira Barcelona (with some of the conferences in the CaixaForum) as the biggest meeting of the worldwide movement of digital creation, with more than 200 projects, live demos and workshops focusing on creativity, innovation, and leading technologies. International representatives include Nadya Peek from MIT Media Lab, Sherry Lassiter from Fab Foundation, Indy Johar from Dark Matter, and Eric Pan from Seeed Studios among many others.

You'll find talks, demos, workshops, conferences and exhibits on 3D printing, electronics, robotics, Big Data, augmented reality, digital fabrication, internet, nanotechnology, biotechnology, drones, and more, all aimed at creators, hackers, makers, engineers, craftspeople, innovative scientists, or anyone at any age who's just curious and wants to create and is ready to get into the joy of making. The fair also includes the presentation of a sample of some scientific and advanced technological research projects that Catalan centres of excellence are currently working on.
