From October 29 to November 1, you're invited to the second edition of the Barcelona Shag Festival. Get your mind out of the gutter, the shag in this case is a swing dance that gained popularity in 1930s America. The BCN Shag Festival is the first and only festival dedicated to this dance in all of Europe. The first edition was a success, with some 250 dancers from all around the globe: Stephen Sayer and Chandrae Roettig (USA), among the top shag dancers in the world, are once again the guest instructors, and this year the festival also welcomes Peter Ayres (UK); Frances Doughterty (USA) and Eamonn O'Sullivan (Ireland). Also helping to teach are Pol Prats and Sara Planes, proponents of the Collegiate Shag in Spain and founders and organisers of the festival. Over the three days of the festival there will be classes for beginners and those who already know their stuff, and you'll be able to pick up a few steps of other types of dancing as well.
