Time Out says

On February 5 millions of Chinese people around the world celebrate Chinese New Year, this year ringing in the Year of the Pig with a two-week-long festival. In Barcelona the big party will be on Saturday, February 2, with a series of festive activities organised in collaboration with a long list of Chinese federations and organisations in Catalonia, as well as some local Catalan entities, heaps of volunteers, and organisations such as the Fundació Institut Confuci de Barcelona and Casa Asia, who help to make this Chinese tradition possible in Barcelona.

The celebration of Chinese New Year in Barcelona includes a parade that starts at 11.30am at the Estació del Nord park, and shows and a gastronomy fair in Passeig Lluis Companys (from 12.30pm to 8pm). New this year are the appearance of the Saint Anthony Pig starring as the guest of honour in the parade, and from Av. Paral·lel, closed off specially for the event, comes the 'gegant' (giant) Rosa, along with her special friend Armand and other Chinese and Catalan figures.
