Time Out says

It's time once more to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, and where better to do that than in Barcelona, a place that perfectly combines a love for the past and the future. Local tradition dictates that as the bells strike midnight, 12 grapes need to be eaten before the last dong is heard, to ensure good luck for the year to come. The biggest party of the night takes place in Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina, just next to Plaça Espanya, at the Montjuïc Magic Fountain, starting at 9.30pm. French company Groupe F is in charge of the main show this year, and it's inspired by the very same traditional 12 grapes eaten at midnight. Expect plenty of light, colour and dance, where the dancers are the fireworks, the water and the aerial elements.
