Time Out says

It's time for La Rambla itself to have its Festa Major, or really big party. The theme is 'La Rambla in bloom', and plenty of buildings on the famouse boulevard will be decorated, including the Arts Santa Mónica gallery, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Boquería market, the Columbus lookout statue and tower, the Maritime Museum, the Palau de la Virreina and the Teatre Principal, among others. In addition to the flowery decorations, from October 7 to 13 you'll also find plenty of activities. On Friday the 7th there's an exhibition of works done by the elderly who take part in Casals de Gent Gran de Ciutat Vella (11am-1pm), and a dance for the elderly as well (5pm) with live music in front of the Columbus statue at the foot of La Rambla. Saturday the 8th kicks off with 'One flower, one wish' (11am) in front of the Palau de la Virreina, later there's chocolate for everyone (6pm) and a free concert (but with limited space) by Judit Neddermann (7pm) at the Teatrino in the Liceu Conservatory.

Throughout the festival a total of ten public and private cultural venues will open their doors and offer free admission, among them Palau Güell, the Maritime Museum, the Wax Museum, the Palau Moja, the Liceu, the Teatre Principal, the Teatre Poliorama, the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Palau de la Virreina, and Arts Santa Mónica.
