Time Out says

Barcelona's seaside neighbourhood celebrates its Festa Major from September 25 to October 5 in honour of Sant Miquel, the patron saint of Barceloneta. You'll come across ten days of parties in the decorated streets that get underway with the traditional opening speech (Sun 25, 8pm) from Father Manuel and Sister Pilar. You'll also enjoy the famous Barceloneta Cannon (Tue 27, 9am), which heads out from Plaça de la Barceloneta shooting out treats and ends up in Plaça Poeta Boscà with a kids' foam party; the 'correfoc' (fire run) (Tue 27, 8pm); 'havaneres' sung at the Somorrostro con Mar Endins beach (Mon 26); Sant Miquel devil dialogues (Oct 1), which start with a beastly parade and end with the verses being read in Plaça de la Barceloneta. The Festa Major ends Sunday, October 5 with a parade of flags brought to you by the Choral Coordinator of the neighbourhood, and fireworks from Passeig Marítim, along with 'coca' pastry to eat and 'rom cremat' (hot rum with fruit and spices) to drink.
