Giant nativity scene at the Horta Market

Christmas comes to the Horta municipal market with the second edition of its 'Pessebre Gegant', or Giant Nativity, an installation by Antonio Cáceres you can visit from December 2 to January 5 during regular market hours. Cácares has taken over a vacant market stall and re-created a traditional manger that's even larger than last year, and which features an extensive range of landscapes. The work is surrounded by traditional images of the era. The water, the lighting, the figures, and especially the small details you can admire, including through the windows of each house, in the farming activities, at the market and the artisan workshops, give life that seems almost real to the whole atmosphere.
