La Mercè 2019: No-cars day

On Sunday, September 22, European Mobility Week and Barcelona's La Mercè celebrations meet again to remind us that good practices in terms of mobility help improve air quality and reclaim public spaces. To that end, from 10am to 2pm, Via Laietana becomes a car-free space between Plaça d'Urquinaona and Plaça d'Antonio López. The only traffic allowed is pedestrian, bicycle and public transport. Instead of the usual traffic and noise, you'll find a green space with games, concerts, activities and spaces dedicated to creative endeavors, as well as a speaker's corner.
