La Model is a prison building that's part of the contemporary history of Barcelona. This prison has great symbolism for the citizens of Barcelona, and it's now on its way to becoming a new cultural space in the Esquerra de l'Eixample, bringing an end to the urban barrier that this building represented for more than a century.
