Time Out says

In recent years the neighbourhood of Poblenou has become Barcelona's district of artistic and creative innovation par excellence. It's an area that's thriving with old warehouses and restored factories living alongside modern buildings of the latest generation.

To make it more visible and accessible, the Poblenou Urban District is putting on more than 100 activities having to do with art, creativity, gastronomy, theatre arts and music, brought to you by the 85 spaces that make up their community, many of them normally closed to the public but open their doors on this fourth edition of the Open Day. You're invited to get to know some of the most emblematic spaces and projects in Poblenou between noon and 8pm.

Art galleries, creative centres, artist studios, ad agencies, audiovisual producers, showrooms, gastronomic spaces, shops, cocktail bars, hotels and restaurants join in, offering a programme with plenty of free things to do and special promotions, with creativity as the driving force, and all organised specially for the occasion.

Also taking place during the Open Day is the Independent Barcelona Coffee Festival, the first festival dedicated to coffee in Barcelona. The festival aims to spread the culture of specialty coffee and create a forum for strengthening the concept of this drink, both nationally and internationally. It will be held at Espacio 88" (Pamplona, 88).

Museums including the Music Museum and Can Framis will give discounts, and in the case of the Barcelona Design Hub, entrance is free.

Where the streets Álava and Tánger meet, Van Van Market will set up their convoy of food trucks with a variety of different types of gastronomic delights on offer from 11am to 11pm.

The array of quality food is joined by live music in surroundings where artists of different disciplines will show off their works, and there will be performances and an art market.

You can also take part in Hotswing – open swing classes courtesy of dance school Swing Maniacs – where you can learn to do the charleston, lindy hop and more. Participants can enter the competition to win a night in one of the collaborating hotels.

On Saturday 7 it's also time for the Spanish Aeropress Championship, whose winner will compete in the world championship in Dublin this June.

You'll also find loads of good food, beer and music throughout Poblenou on Open Day.
