Time Out says

The Primera Persona ('First Person') festival is directed by writers Kiko Amat and Miqui Otero, and invites authors from all generations, musicians and interesting folks from a variety of professions and backgrounds to share stories from their lives with the festival audiences in a close-up and intimate setting. As every year, this eighth edition of Primera Persona is divided into two sessions a day in the CCCB theatre, striking a balance of generations and genres, and underlining its three distinguishing characteristics: special proposals by big names, a showcase for new voices, and thematic capsules of subculture, sociocultural phenomena and secret histories of the city, among others.

This year's line¡up includes Brit pop god Brett Anderson, the frontman from Suede, who's set to discuss his biography, 'Coal Black Mornings', with culture journalist Xavi Sancho; Irish writer Nik Cohn, father of rock writing and an icon of pop journalism, who's accompanied by DJ Kosmos, a Barcelona producer and DJ; Julieta Venegas, a Mexican singer-songwriter who's sold over 12 million albums worldwide, and who shares her passion for reading with live readings and song; Andalusian MC Mala Rodríguez, an icon of Spanish rap, flamenco and gypsy feminism, sharing the stage with journalist and writer Silvia Cruz; American cartoonist Emil Ferris, author of the graphic novel 'My Favorite Thing Is Monsters'; US journalist and amateur boxer Thomas Page McBee, the first transsexual boxer to fight at Madison Square Garden; and more.
