If you're looking for an alternative to the beach or a public swimming pool to escape the heat and humidity, head to Poble Espanyol every Saturday and Sunday in August for their water party called Splash!
The party features activities with water as the star. In the venue's Plaza Major, you'll find inflatable castles, balloons, sprinklers and squirt guns. In Plaza del Baluart, with stunning views of the city of Barcelona, you can take part in a giant-bubble workshop, shoot balls at a huge target, play a game with basketball hoops, play mini golf, fish for duckies, and play table football. There are also family-orientated shows featuring circus, theatre and live music in the picnic area.
The organisers ensure that everything is set up to comply with safety measures, with a limited capacity, mandatory wearing of masks and use of hand-sanitising gel, safe distances maintained, and each activity has a monitor who controls the proper use of space and compliance the measures. They also recommend buying tickets online in advance to avoid queues at the entrance of the venue.
