Barcelona hosts the second edition of this festival dedicated to the world of stop motion animation

This is the second edition of the Stop Motion Barcelona Short Film Festival, Spain's first festival dedicated exclusively to stop motion animation. The festival, whose inaugural event last year was a big hit, returns with a larger programme and takes place at the Centre Cívic Can Felipa in Poblenou. For three days, as well as the official selection of short films that are in competition, you can also see student projects, a selection of new Czech works curated by the Czech Centre in Madrid, and a retrospective of work by the winners from the last eight editions of the Stop Motion Montreal festival, which is participating in the Barcelona event as a collaborator and guest festival. In addition, there will be workshops for all ages, and appearances by international animators from the sector of stop motion such as Jamie Caliri, Californian director and animator, creator of the Dragonframe software (used by studios like Laika and Aardman Animations in their productions) and the stop motion director of 'The Little Prince' (2015); also coming are María Moreira and Raúl Eguía, animators from Aardman, who have worked on productions such as 'Shaun the Sheep' (2015) and 'Early Man', which is due for release in 2018.
