Sternalia’s themed dinners leave a lasting impression: you'll leave with both a full belly and the feeling that your heart can hardly hold all the joy. This summer (and beyond), you can enjoy nights designed to combine gastronomy, setting, and surprise. Whether under the stars, to the sound of live music, or surrounded by scientific curiosities, these dinners offer a unique way to experience the night.

Imagine being under a starry sky, with the city of Barcelona at your feet, while uncovering the secrets of the universe. Or maybe you’d rather be swept away by the notes of an intimate jazz or opera concert as you savor exquisite dishes. Every Sternalia event is a world of its own: astronomical, musical, historical, and even scientific dinners that blur the line between pleasure and knowledge.

The curtain rises, and the table is set! May you sit dow and enjoy a taste of what each dinner experience is like.

1. Dinner Under the Stars

Barcelona sparkles below as you gaze up at the sky. That’s how the Dinner with Stars begins at the Fabra Observatory — a classic summer experience that combines fine dining, scientific outreach, and astronomical observation.

From May 30 to October 5, 2025 (Tuesday to Sunday), this event invites you to dine al fresco at one of the city’s most stunning viewpoints. At 8:30 p.m., a creative, universe-inspired menu is served, with options like the Menu of the Stars or Observatory Menu, always featuring high-quality ingredients and a welcome glass of cava.

After dinner, enjoy a 30-minute popular science talk open to audience questions. The night ends with a guided tour of the Observatory’s historic section — including its museum, modernist hall, and meridian telescope — culminating in the grand dome, where the 1904 telescope awaits. Still operational, it lets you observe planets, constellations, and other marvels of the solar system.

Feeling starstruck? Don’t miss this evening where sky, science, and fine cuisine align.

2. An Evening to the Rhythm of Jazz & Soul

A hidden farmhouse in the heart of Guinardó, nestled in a historic park once home to the Pla and Armengol laboratories, sets the stage for this night of jazz, soul, and gourmet dining.

The Jazz & Soul Dinner starts with a guided tour of an early 20th-century lab and the most important antique furniture museum in Europe. Then comes a carefully crafted dinner at the Núria Pla house-museum, followed by a vibrant concert featuring some of today’s standout performers.

Expect artists like Koko-Jean Davis and Friends, bringing high-energy soul, blues, and R&B, or Ster Wax and Boogie, masters of boogie-woogie and raw jazz. Each night has its own character — check the schedule and choose your groove.

A dinner to swing through hidden corners of the city and enjoy great music with great company.

3. Let Yourself Be Fooled by the Mirage of the Senses

Not everything is as it seems — especially when the brain is doing the interpreting. The Dinner of the Senses is more than a meal: it’s a sensory and cultural journey into how we construct reality through our senses — and how easily they can be tricked.

The venue is unparalleled: the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia, a centuries-old building in the heart of Barcelona. The evening begins with a guided tour, followed by a mentalism show designed to test your perception. And then, yes — dinner is served.

The menu is crafted to awaken all five senses — and maybe a few neurons too. Expect unexpected flavors, confusing textures, misleading colors, and dishes designed to make you question your own perceptions. A night of optical and gustatory illusions, filled with mystery.

A dinner that surprises, about the very act of dining itself.

4. A Meal Full of Lyrical Notes

Some dishes are best served with music. The Opera Dinner pairs fine dining with lyrical performances in a setting worth visiting on its own: the Núria Pla House Museum. It’s a full cultural experience that begins in the lobby of this former pharmaceutical lab, now one of Europe’s top antique furniture museums.

The guided tour showcases a unique collection of aristocratic furnishings, from grand buffets to ornate sideboards — each piece full of stories. After the tour, music takes center stage.

Upstairs, a live opera concert awaits, featuring different performers depending on the night. From The Three Tenors to Opera Divas or Opera Hits, each group presents a powerful, emotional selection that will have you hearing in a whole new way.

As the final note still lingers in the air, dinner begins. A carefully curated menu is served in the same space, while the artists gather once more to deliver a surprise encore. Even the final toast hits the perfect note!
