Time Out says

Inspired by the popular Car Free Day, which takes place every year as part of European Mobility Week, this 'Obrim carrers' ('We open the streets') initiative is back to show the benefits of carless streets. The first Saturday of every month, from 5pm to 9pm, various streets in the city are cut off completely from traffic, and everyone is welcome to stroll along them, play in them, do some exercise or sports, or get together with the local community. This second edition of 'Obrim carrers' brings in some new streets to the fold. After opening up Gran de Gràcia (between Nil Fabra and Plaça Nicolás Salmerón) and Via Laeitana (between Plaça Urquinaona and Plaça Antonio López), this Saturday, March 7, you'll also find car-free streets at Creu Coberta and Sants (between Plaça Espanya and Arizala). Rolling over into Sunday the 8th, the major street that is Aragó between Tarragona and La Meridiana will also be car-free, from 10am to 3pm.
