Head to The Bird up in Prenzlauer Berg (now opening a second branch in Kreuzberg) for a dip into that emotional, American relationship with beef. A dip, in the literal sense, as the menu hectors diners to ditch the ‘uptight’ knife and fork (rolls of kitchen towel are supplied on each table for those wishing to get elbow-deep). Get stuck at one of the large chunky tables for a long-haul meaty experience. Staff stick to the hard-bitten New Yorker stereotype and the restaurant gets rowdy: ‘angry hour’ runs from 6-8pm every day, with a two-for-one offer on Schneider Weisse draught beer and 25 cent spicy chicken wings. The Bird’s burgers (starting at €9.50) are mighty: 250g of freshly minced meat is smothered in molten cheese and caramelised onions, with a toasted English muffin perched jauntily atop the sloppy pile. Alongside this glistening beauty lies an enormous pile of hand-cut fries, one of the restaurant’s highlights. Options for burger variants include blue cheese, guacamole, bacon, and so on, but any addition here seems like overkill. Don’t plan on doing much after tackling one of these gut-busters; you should roll out virtually prostrate.

I've only been to the Kreuzberg location so can't comment on their Prenzlaurberg brother but was also rather disappointed by the entire experience. While the service in our case was friendly enough the fries were the only thing that I would really qualify as "good". However, good fries don't make a mediocre burger worth 15€.
"I got raped by hipster culture," were my friends exact words after leaving.
Has the reviewer even eaten there or just been paid to advertise it?
This place is really shit, so over rated and really don't understand why it's always busy.
"How would you like your burger?" Cooked would be nice start and they don't take it back when they undercooked it. The staff are super unfriendly and must think they are famous when they drink in other establishments too because i've seen the way they actin in other bars when they are out.
Impossible to get stuck at a table for the "Long Haul" they throw you out after an hour to let more idiots that read the over hyped reviews of this place on the web and in magazines.
This place is living off the hype of what it used to be, it's just like a lot of the well advertised tourist attractions now in Berlin, overhyped and below average.
