Hotel Askanischer Hof

Despite standing on one of Berlin's best-known streets, the Askanischer Hof is a well-kept secret, and chock full of atmosphere. Walk down the hall, filled with yellowed drawings, and you can almost see the ghosts of actors and literary types who visited long before World War II. The bedrooms are a fanciful mix of styles spanning a century of European interiors, from heavy Prussian desks and 1940s wallpaper, to over stuffed leather chesterfields.
