Artsy but not pretentious, this restaurant offers Austrian and south German classics served in a cool ambience. Everything from the strudel crust to the bread is handcrafted; the entrées, including a roast beef smothered in crispy onions and medallions of pork with rösti potatoes and endive salad, are at the level where you just can't help talking about flavours and textures. The pasta, including noodles and peas with cherry tomatoes as a starter, is especially memorable. The wine list and desserts are good too.
