With its old-salon appeal - art covers every available inch of wall - this is one of Berlin's tried and true spots. It attracts a crowd of rowdy regulars, and newcomers can feel left out when seated in the rear. The pricey food, it has to be said, isn't nearly as good as the staff pretend. To experience that and the often rude service, you'll need to book.
