Time Out says

Based on the best-selling book, this play follows Cheryl Strayed's story as the anonymous Agony Aunt behind the much-loved column 'Dear Sugar'

This production contains references to child sexual abuse, self-harm and attempted suicide.

Cheryl Strayed wears many hats; she's a wife, a mother, a daughter, a writer, an ex-heroin user, and now, she is an online advice columnist that goes by the pseudonym of 'Sugar'.

Based on Strayed's best-selling book, Tiny Beautiful Things is a play by the Queensland Theatre about the column 'Dear Sugar' Strayed wrote for the website The Rumpus. After battling her demons while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail – which resulted in the hit book and film Wild – Strayed took to her desk to answer letters from the anxious, betrayed and confused.

Amidst the clutter of her family life, Strayed receives emails from strangers needing help navigating the trials and tribulations of life. Can't pay the bills? Feeling overcome with grief? Want to know how to write your first novel? She begins to respond to a smorgasbord of queries and quickly garners a legion of fans for her genuine compassion and steadfast advice.

The Academy Award nominee Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) has adapted this New York Times bestselling book into a stage production that is authentic as the stories within it. From June 17 until July 8, catch Tiny Beautiful Things at the Billie Brown Theatre and get tickets on the Queensland Theatre website here.

Spend a 'Night with the Artists' to see the show and learn how the production was adapted for the stage on June 26.
