HWY is a festival for independent artists, scratch work, and professional development. Each day of the festival new work will be on display in the form of a reading, showing, demonstration, interactive lecture or something yet to be defined.

This is your chance to gain practical and hands-on knowledge from Brisbane’s leading industry professionals. For just $25 per class you can be among a small group of 25 to attend an all-day (9am-5pm) workshop, with subjects including:
-Directing in the Round - with Todd MacDonald (La Boite Theatre Company’s Artistic Director)
-Design Process for Mainstage Productions - with Ben Hughes (Straight White Men, A Streetcar Named Desire) & Moe Assaad (The Village)
-Playwrighting Masterclass – with Suzie Miller (Snow White, Medea) & Dan Evans (The Tragedy of King Richard III, The Good Room’s I Want To Know What Love Is)
-Dramaturgy in the House - with Katherine Kelly (QTC's Motherland)
-Independent Producers Bootcamp* - with Glyn Roberts (La Boite Theatre Company’s Creative Producer) & Marnie Karmelita (Brisbane Powerhouse’s Senior Producer) (*across two days - price $50)
