Tenzin Choegyal (Tibetan Musician) says
Deva Premal and Miten offer a special concert with Tenzin Choegyal and Friends as they launch the program for the 2016 Festival of Tibet in April.

An inspiring night of chants and music, opened by the monks of Tibet, Deva and Miten’s chants offer something of a musical balm to calm the nerves and nourish the spirit.

Deva and Miten began their journey into love, music and meditation in 1990 when they met at the Osho Ashram in India while studying meditation. Since then they have committed themselves to a nomadic existence, intent on sharing a life carried on the wings of these powerful healing formulas, known to the world as Mantra.

Tenzin Choegyal draws on his traditional Tibetan roots to create original compositions which uniquely express his cultural lineage. He was born to a nomadic family in southwest Tibet, escaped into Nepal from the Chinese occupation and was raised in the Tibetan refugee community in Dharamsala, India. It was there that Tenzin first began to explore his musical talents.

Over the last two decades, Tenzin’s collaboration with numerous Australian and international performers has allowed him to experiment with rhythm, structure and to challenge traditional Tibetan musical norms. His award-winning songs have found a place in the complex tapestry of global sounds.

Deva and Miten have released a string of CDs since their first, The Essence, in 1998, which rocketed to the top of New Age charts around the world. Their annual world tour, around 25 countries annually, attract thousands of devotees.
