Mums 4 Refugees invite you to join us as we raise our voices in songs for freedom in solidarity with asylum seekers in Australia's offshore detention centre and refugees living in the Nauruan and PNG community who fear for their safety and face a very bleak and uncertain future.

We hope to capture the interest of passers-by with emotive music and hopefully win hearts and minds to a more compassionate way of thinking about asylum seekers and refugees.

At 4pm every afternoon since Palm Sunday (it will be day 48 when we assemble), asylum seekers in Nauru's family detention camp (RPC3) have gathered and stood together at the gates of their compounds to ask for freedom. Three weeks ago the refugees who live in the camp opposite the centre began simultaneous action inside the grounds of their own compound.

Many of the asylum seekers have been suffering in this Australian funded detention centre for more than 1000 days. The refugees living in the Nauruan community also fear for their safety and face a very bleak and uncertain future.

Meanwhile many of their friends are now in Australia, either being asked to apply for (temporary) protection, or in Community Detention (due to the success of the #LetThemStay campaign).

Despite beatings by Wilson Guards, despite Dept. Immigration and Border Protection dismissing their concerns for alomost 3 years now, despite fences erected to impede their protests, and despite having mobile phones confiscated to prevent them taking photos, these asylum seekers and refugees bravely continue their daily protests.

We invite you to join us in Brisbane CBD on Friday 6th May to express our solidarity with their struggle for freedom. They too *will* be brought to Australia... let's make it sooner rather than later.

Bring a candle along as a symbol of Hope and Light in the Dark.
