Review
The former studio of a photographer to the Habsburg court more than a century ago has been converted into one of Budapest's finest photo galleries. Much has happened in this building on theatre-lined Nagymező utca in between, most notably hosting the notorious Arizona cabaret of the immediate pre-war era, but its conversion in the late 1990s created a light-filled gallery space and exquisite terrace café. Temporary exhibitions are staged year-round, often two at a time, and invariably provided with English-language documentation.
