Chiang Mai’s VW crew rolls back into the mountains of Mon Jod inviting any VW bods (and those with other types of campers, beetles and kombis) to park up for one seriously hipster overnight camp-out. Part car club, part party, the all-day event is all about admiring machines and enjoying live music from a camping chair. Live performances come courtesy of Apartment Khunpa and Whatcharawalee, with special guests Rayron, as well as vinyl DJs spinning tunes, a flea market packed with VW parts and collectibles, a dedicated Vespa camp zone, kids’ art camp and an open-air movie screening once night falls. If you’ve yet to invest in your own VW camper, fear not. Walk-ins are allowed (and welcomed), as well as space for Toyotas and Fords. Just note: no outside alcohol, no open fires and bring your own camping gear.
