Theatre fans cheer, it’s time for a shadow showdown, this time from the beaches of Blue Island. Loneliness, light and a little bit of magic frame this poetic, non-verbal shadow puppet performance by Sutarath Sinnong of Homemade Puppet fame. Using nothing more than household objects, light, shadow and sound, A Tale From the Blue Island tells the story of a cautious creature born different – choosing solitude over the risk of hurting others – until an unexpected encounter changes everything. Best of all? No dialogue means no language barrier. Just pure visual storytelling covering themes of connection and transformation that land just as beautifully for grown-ups as they do for little ones. Suitable for ages 3 and up. Running time 25 minutes.
Feb 21-22. B300, tickets here. Brilliant Drama. Showtimes 10am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 6pm
